Well, my last post was a long time ago. So, it’s time to write new one.

I want to present you my first semester work, which I work now. Here is screenshot:

As you can guess, this is the clone of an ancient super-mega epic trash game called «Color lines«. Some ppl can keep it in mind as the great secretary’s time killer «Lines 98″.

This game is making with OpenGL API and GLUT library. Appearance of the game, maybe, isn’t so great or awesome, but I’m trying to do it better, of course. The cooled thing, I’ve released, I think, it’s A* pathfinding algorithm, without path construction yet, but it works and can tell us: is there a path from source to aim, or not. Also I’ll try to make it crossplatform. Field is also rotatable in 3D space, movement of cursor released via WSAD-buttons and it is smooth.

For couple of days I plan to end the work and begin to write docs (uhhhg ).

And also there are very good news: after some days of Humble Indie Bundle action, developers of Aquaria, Gish and Penumbra: Overture decided to open source codes of their games. Source code of Lugaru HD is already available too. Also, few days ago, Ryzom MMORPG has gone open source too. These are the awesomest news of past time. Let’s wish success to developers in future.

Итак, некоторые новости я узнаю с небольшим опозданием, а еще больший эффект создает моя отложенная публикация.

Как мне недавно стало известно, на выставке Blizzard Entertainment Worldwide Invitational в Париже 28 июня сего года было анонсировано продолжение одной из лучших RPG всех времен и народов — Diablo III.

Считается, что на Diablo очень сильно повлияла UNIX-игра 80-х годов прошлого века Rogue. Она является ключевой в истории игростроя, так как в ней первой разработана уникальная механика, зародившая жанр Roguelike.
